| Greeting of the Chairman, Ken Ueshima |
 |
| |
This time, I will serve as the chairman of "Gakudo Kofu".
Because I knew the name of the great Gakudo who devoted
his life to the achievement of a true democratic form
of government and to global peace, I feel truly honored
by this appointment. Moreover, the activity of "Gakufukai
Kofu" in Washington, D.C. has also received the high
appraisal in the United States.
As a person born and raised in Ise, and as a Japanese,
I am very proud.
The following words of the great Gakudo, who always has
global and future-oriented perspective, especially remains
in my mind.
The world is getting smaller and
smaller, and people's power is getting bigger and bigger
…
… There is no boundary of the sky in the sky.
There is actually no boundary in the sea either.
As we venture to the bottom of the ocean in submarines,
this boundary will continue to decrease.
All of the boundaries in the heaven, on the ground, and
in the sea will disappear.
… Power must surely be used carefully, with an open heart
and an open mind, so as not to care for the imagined boundaries
such as race and country.
I wish to make the word of the great Gakudo "The stage of the life
always exists in the future " the motto, and to make his will known
to the world through the activity of "Gakudo Kofu".
My best regards to you all for the future. |

Gakudo - Yukio Ozaki, who is revered as "the God
of the constitutional government", dedicated his
entire life to the establishment of the constitutional
government for the purpose of introducing a modern democratic
form of government into Japan. He proposed the introduction
of the popular election, appealed for disarmament after
World War I, and promoted the establishment of the global
peace by strongly appealing for the prompt establishment
of a world governing body after World War II.
Moreover, Yukio Ozaki's large contribution to the Japan-U.S.
friendship exchange has now come to be known since he
donated 3,000 cherry blossom trees to United States' capital
Washington D.C. in his time as Tokyo mayor. The grand
"U.S. Cherry blossoms festival" is held annually
thanks to his donation.
It is the people of Ise who supported and had nurtured
the statesman Yukio Ozaki. He was truly a great statesman
whom Ise and Japan can boast to the world.
To commend what he did through the footprint of Gakudo
Ozaki, and to pass the Gakudo spirit on to future generations,
We, "Gakudo Kofu" hope to spread the Gakudo
spirit more and contribute to a better civil society by
the uplifting of citizens' spiritual cultures and youth's
health promotion, and the proud city planning of Ise.
"Gakudo Kofu" is an NPO and our activities are
based on the fine activities of "Gakufukai Kofu"
for the last ten years or more. We wish more people will
understand, appreciate, and join us in our activities. |
